I never know how to begin my blog posts and I’m definitely not the best with words. BUT I felt that these two had to have a little story to go along with their images:) With this post there’s so much I can say, I don’t know where to start.
If you visit the blog often or know me and my family, you know that my husband’s younger sister was killed in an ATV accident on August 19th 2011. You can find a post about that here.
Today I want to talk about the ones she left behind, the amazing, innocent, sweet, loving, caring babies that are now trying to carry on without their Mom. It brings me to tears just to type it, I think of it often. Every time I do something special with my own children, or just every now and then, it hits me, and I think how sad it is that they will never have her there, they will not experience life with their Mommy. I know they are young, but I also see how they remember her picture, they kiss it, hug it, and call out for their Mom. They miss her so much. But I have no doubt they will know all about her, through their Grandma, their Aunts and Uncles, they/we will be sure to tell them what a wonderful person she was.
Now that Lacey is gone, my husband and I feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility to be there as much as we can and to watch out for them. We didn’t spend a lot of time with them before the accident because of strained relationships, but they need all the love, support, and family they can get. That saying “it takes a village to raise a child.” I couldn’t agree more, and for these two, those words couldn’t be more true.
They came to visit us this weekend and we were able to celebrate their 1st and 2nd birthdays with them:) I just couldn’t let them leave my house without snapping a few portraits! It was so great to have them here, it does us all good to see them, especially my husband. I hope you all enjoy a few images of these little cuties;)

The “mellows” not only helped them set through the picture, I think it made the picture. Had no idea, when I bought those “mellows”, that bag would add memories to last a lifetime. : ) Lacey, is definately smiling down from heaven right now, seeing her babies in these pictures.
